# Record-Based Ontology (RBO) Author: Federico Batori Canonical site: https://rbo-record-based-ontology.netlify.app/ Linked BCT site: https://bit-collapse-theory.netlify.app/ ## Project summary Record-Based Ontology (RBO) is a BCT-derived philosophical framework for record-based individuation, finite definiteness, and anti-overcounting. Its central claim is not that records create reality ex nihilo, but that finite definiteness requires record-constituted differences that become accessible, persistent, and update-constraining for finite systems. BCT (Bit-Collapse Theory) remains the physics-facing core. RBO is a BCT-derived framework that generalizes BCT's individuation logic to facts, selves, outcomes, false records, and observer-worlds. RBO should not be read as a completed autonomous physical ontology or as a replacement for BCT. ## Important boundaries - RBO is not subjective idealism. - RBO is not crude constructivism. - RBO is not social relativism. - RBO is not a claim that consciousness physically collapses the wave function. - RBO is not a replacement for physics. - RBO distinguishes recordhood from truth: a false record can be real as a record while false as a representation. ## Recommended reading order 1.
